Perfect Wedding at The Club of Knights in Coral Gables, Florida║Sarah + Brian
Florida Wedding Photographer
Every once in a while we get to photograph a wedding that just stays with us afterward- it’s difficult to put into words. Sarah and Brian’s wedding was that wedding.
We went into the day like we do any other wedding and when we arrived, Sarah’s warmth as well as her subtle but witty sense of humor and Brian’s gracious and kind personality made us feel immediately at home capturing their intimate moments with their friends and families.
Sarah was radiant. Her energy was easy-going and lighthearted, and her beauty was sophisticated and timeless. A small tattoo ran over the top of her foot “Be as you are” and seemed perfectly suited for her- completely relaxed and comfortable in who she was, which made her all the more magnetic.
The bridal suite at the Hyatt Regency in Coral Gables was perfect for the ladies to lounge, get ready and practice their entrance dance for the evening’s reception. With Samantha Alexis Beauty giving the girls their flawless hair and makeup, they were able to relax and enjoy the day together. Sarah was, hands-down, the most relaxed bride we have ever known. I just remember her asking what time it was once or twice and no matter the answer, she’d always just wave her hand and say “pshh- we got plenty of time.” We also loved that the couple’s sweet pup, Bean, accompanied us for bridal prep. We had met their cute and energetic golden-doodle during their engagement session and she loved attention from the bridal party and us and our cameras.
Brian and his groomsmen spent the morning hanging out poolside before showering and casually getting ready for the day. These guys were as laid back and fun as it gets- which was awesome.
After hair and makeup, Sarah’s mom and sister helped her into her beautiful dress from Pronovias and her perfect pink heels before her first look with Brian.
Abby from Blue Orchid Events planned every last detail for their lovely wedding. Beautiful florals by Event Bliss decorated the gorgeous reception space at Club of Knights for Sarah and Brian’s celebration. Their lovely wedding cake was designed and created by the talented Edda's Cake Design.
I was so excited to find this sweet and social silkie chicken who lives at The Club of Knights- we couldn’t help but grab a few shots of her wandering around the ceremony setup.
We laughed a lot, (I cried a little), and we thoroughly enjoyed their moment-rich wedding day. When we left that evening and in the days afterward, Chris and I realized how moved we were by these two people. Their deep love for each other was evident throughout the day but I will remember the words they spoke in their vows long after the countless vows I have heard have faded from memory. I was particularly taken with Sarah’s vows, utterly honest and genuine- opening her heart to share details that I found to be some of the most powerful moments I have witnessed. Furthermore, every time I edited their album, I found myself reviewing their photos with tears welling up in my eyes. It kind of became a running joke as Chris would laugh at me trying to play off my quiet sniffling when I would go through the shots of their ceremony.
Their reception celebration began with bridesmaids and groomsmen’ entrance dances followed by the newlyweds sharing their first dance as husband and wife. Brian and Sarah also shared formal dances with their mothers just before speeches to toast the newlyweds.
With entertainment by Custom DJ Services, the dance floor was packed throughout the night. It was a moment-rich celebration perfect for this awesome couple’s wedding. Because, if everyone isn’t dancing their asses off and at least a few people haven’t ripped their pants, did you even really get married???
Sarah and Brian were relaxed and laid back and fun! But more than that, they are just awesome humans- ones that we both adored and by the end of the day, we were sad to leave. What made it even better was that, as we said our goodbyes, Sarah said “Oh no!!”- which caught us both by surprise- and then continued saying that she was sad we were leaving as she was so happy to have chosen the “fun photographers” (which admittedly made us feel entirely too cool as we drove home repeating to each other, “we ARE fun, aren’t we?!?! Yeah- that’s us- super cool.”)
